Wasp PartXNUMX

Category: Nature, Monthly
Today we cleaned the precincts as usual at the end of the month.
Today, Kyoto has a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, which is a midsummer day.And since Kyoto in summer is humid and hot and humid, the sensible temperature feels even higher. When cleaning, I am doing my best to protect myself by wrapping long sleeves, long pants, gloves, a hat with an insect repellent net, and an ice pack wrapped in a towel around my neck to prevent heat stroke.

By the way, the hornet extermination is not over yet.I found that I was starting to build a fifth nest. This time it is under the eaves of the Kagura hall.
I found about 10 wasps gathered and exterminated them with a wasp insecticide. After checking after the wasps disappeared, a small nest in the photo below was formed.Eggs have already been laid in the nest.It was good to be able to detect it early. However, it would be nice if the wasps also built their nests in a different place. The place this time is right above the head of the worshiper.I can't leave it alone.
Well, this is the last one, or a comparison with a wasp.

You can see the eggs in the small room.
The back is like this.
There was a nest here.

This is a follow-up report on the extermination of wasps that I wrote on my blog on July 7.
The poison bait set in the second nest seemed to work, and when I thought that the wasps in this nest were gone, I started to make a new "fourth nest" again.I found it right next to the first nest yesterday morning!I used the wasp insecticide I bought before I grew up to get rid of it.It seems that I really want to build a nest in this place this year.
Then, if you look at the weather forecast this morning, you can see that there are three typhoons!
The roofs overlap here and the building stands facing west-northwest, so the easterly and south winds do not hit it. A strong easterly or southerly wind blows near Araki Jinja when a typhoon comes. This is probably the cause.

In 16, 10 typhoons have landed in Japan. At this time, wasps made a nest in the gap between the outer wall of the office and the board.I was wondering because it is a wasp that does not usually nest in such a place, but I remember being convinced that it was to protect myself from typhoons that come every week after that, and I was interested in the wisdom of natural creatures. ..

This year is not as much as 16, but a typhoon may come.It is better not to hit the weather forecast of insects, but I would like to keep in mind disaster prevention on a daily basis and do not neglect preparations.
The left is the trace of the first nest. There is a third nest next to it.
The second nest.White ones are poison bait.

This is the main shrine festival

Today is the main shrine festival of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. Many worshipers came to the evening palace yesterday. However, probably because there was a convectional around 5 pm, the number of people was much less than last year, and the mountains were quiet even after dark.
This year is the same day as Yoyoyama, which is the post-festival of Gion Matsuri, so it may be that the crowds broke up.It would have been nice to take a leisurely look at the lanterns and experience the torii tunnel illuminated fantastically by the red lanterns.
The photo shows Omotesando around 4:9 pm.Today, the festival will be held from 6 am and the lanterns will be lit at XNUMX pm.

Fox follow-up

As for the fox sighting information announced on the blog on June 6, I installed a camera because "I really want to see if there are foxes on Mt. Inari!".When the sensor detects a moving object, it shoots a video for 8 seconds.
First of all, I installed a camera behind the precincts that Miyaji witnessed the other day, but only humans were reflected. So I installed the camera in the mountains near the hole I was guessing that the boar probably dug.The idea is that wild boars can be photographed even if the fox is not good. Then it was a great success! At first, I was wary of an unfamiliar machine, but only the butt was shown, but a few days later I was able to shoot perfectly.I think I took the trouble to pose with the camera in mind (laughs).

Aside from foxes, wild boars can cause harm to humans, so please be careful when visiting at night.
I just hope that it will coexist well with wild animals.

Thousands of customers!

It seems that the wasp extermination was successful for the third time, but another uninvited guest came.
This time "monkey"!
When I was organizing the trash cans in the precincts yesterday morning, a tree branch suddenly fell on my head.As soon as I was surprised and looked up, there was a Japanese monkey in front of me!
I open my mouth wide and threaten with "key!".When I inadvertently threw the PET bottle I had in my hand, I jumped to the roof of the warehouse next door and ran away. When the priest rushed to hear my voice, four monkeys ran away.Did you threaten to catch a trash can if I escaped?
I've heard from a few years ago that I'm going to the top of Mt. Inari, but I was surprised because it didn't appear around Araki Jinja.

They are cute animals to look at, but if you get too close to wild animals, there is nothing good for each other. It is especially dangerous for children, women, and the elderly because they are bullish. When you visit Mt. Inari, please be careful not to give food to the garbage.
Recently, wild boars that have never existed have also appeared.Special attention should be paid to worship at night.

However, after starting the blog, the material comes from the other side one after another.I'm happy, I'm in trouble (laughs)
Stay tuned for more fox updates coming soon.
