Features of Japanese candles

A "pure vegetable" candle made by the traditional method using rush and Japanese paper core on wax extracted from the nuts of the goby tree of the family Rhus.
Compared to paraffin candles, large flames are hard to extinguish and there is less soot and oil smoke. Another characteristic of Japanese candles is that the soft-colored flames sway as if they were breathing.

Watago store

A long-established Japanese candle that has been in Kyoto for over 200 years since the Edo period.
Purveyor to each headquarter.
We handcraft candles using traditional techniques from wax extracted from domestic goby nuts.
